Hart Furniture Building as it appeared in 1986.
Now the home of SearchDex, Inc, this victorian structure was originally constructed around 1888. It is one of the few buildings remaining in Downtown Dallas built before 1900. The structure has 10-foot soaring double-hung windows, an ornate cornice, and is brick construction. In 2003, the exterior of the building was resurfaced, the blue paint removed, and a massive restoration project was begun inside the building.
Today, SearchDex calls the Hart Furniture Building home. SearchDex occupies the entire fourth floor. (Although from the exterior, it appears to only have three stories the building has a small service area which occupies what would traditionally be considered the second floor.) The interior is filled with gleaming red oak floors and walls, with glass-front offices, 14 foot ceilings, and giant period style chandeliers throughout.
